For the 7th time NFRS (Rett Syndrome Norway) arranged a summer- camp for its members. Rett-girls and their fa- milies travelled to Sæby, Denmark from july 30th. to august 6th.

This year 18 families participated, 4 of them from Denmark. For some families this was their very rst summercamp in Sæby while ot- hers are happy to return, as they have every year.

The week has been lled with a lot of di e- rent activities. Welcome- and goodbye-din- ner, foot-massages for the girls (from profes- sional foot-terapists), play-day for the whole family with “water-wars”, badminton, “kubb” (very fun garden game), football etc. We got a guided tour of Sæby, one night out for moth- ers only (dinner) and the same for the fathers another day. We had a quiz and ride with a RIB (Rigid in atable boat). This was the program for this year; earlier years we have been to Alborg Zoo, Action house in Løkken and Fun Farm in Fredrikshavn.

We were barbequing every day and the fami- lies enjoyed having dinner together, for those who wanted to. When the kids went to bed, we gathered around the re and just talked and had a good time.

During the day, siblings of the Rett-girls were playing together, going to the sea or the pool for a swim. The families went to lunch togeth- er in Sæby – everyone did what they felt like .

It`s expensive to arrange such a summer camp but in Norway we are so lucky that we can ap- ply for nancial support from the Norwegia- an department of Health, Every year we have gotten money but we never know how much we get until may/june the same year. For the money we get we can pay for the apartments, dinner and activities. Every family has to pay the cost for travelling to Denmark, but it’s very much worth it.
